Our shared vision

Terry and Amy share a belief that local journalism strengthens a community: it keeps residents informed about the decisions made in their name, celebrates the people and businesses that make a place work, and gives neighbors a common set of facts to talk about.

West Sound News is built on that belief: a publication rooted in trust, community and the power of local voices, and free for everyone to read.

Free to read. Locally owned. Reported by people who live here.

Our standards

Accurate and fair

We verify what we publish, give people a chance to respond, and clearly label opinion pieces and columns. When we get something wrong, we fix it and say so. Spot an error? Email news@westsoundnews.com.

Independent and local

West Sound News is owned by Ward Media, a Washington company, not a national chain. Advertisers and supporters never decide what we cover or how we cover it.

Open about our tools

Our reporters and editors are responsible for everything we publish. Read how we do and don’t use technology in our AI editorial policy.
