Medical examiner identifies service member who died at Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor

SILVERDALE — The Kitsap County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the person who died in an Oct. 8 incident at Naval Submarine Base Bangor as Jack M. Tomanio, a 20-year-old active-duty service member.

An autopsy found the cause of death was blunt force injury to the chest, and the manner of death was ruled an accident, Chief Medical Examiner Lindsey Harle said in an Oct. 15 release.

The release did not describe the incident.
