Two drivers hurt in SR 3 crash near Belfair; WSP memo notes DUI

BELFAIR — Two drivers, including a 23-year-old Bremerton man, were hurt in a two-vehicle crash on state Route 3 at Northeast Ridgepoint Boulevard on the night of Saturday, Oct. 31, according to the Washington State Patrol.

A 2015 Chevrolet Spark heading south was turning left onto Ridgepoint Boulevard at about 10:27 p.m. when it failed to yield and was hit by a northbound 1995 Nissan pickup, according to a WSP press memo. The Chevrolet came to rest on the northbound shoulder, and the pickup came to rest blocking the northbound lane.

Both drivers were taken to St. Michael Medical Center in Silverdale. The Chevrolet’s driver, Paden M. Callahan, 23, of Bremerton, was wearing a seat belt and was cited, the memo says. The pickup’s driver, Toby J. Ingram, 32, of Chehalis, was not wearing a seat belt; the memo lists drugs or alcohol as involved and notes a DUI charge and citation for him. Formal charges are up to prosecutors.

WSP listed the cause as failure to yield. Both vehicles were totaled.
